Essay Competition
This essay competition is centered on global human rights and their impact on youth communities serves as a thought-provoking platform for young minds to articulate their perspectives and insights.
Important Notes:

Essays can be written in any language.

All essays will be edited and published.

Essays may be published anonymously or with credit given to the author, depending on indicated preference.

Overall, Regional, and Categorical awards will be given to the top 20 writers. Award packages depend on the award.

Process & Timeline
ESSAY SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 1 NOVEMBER 2024

November 22nd: Nominees contacted and announced

Winners will be announced during either the Opening Ceremony, Human Rights Day Ceremony, International Human Solidarity Day Ceremony or Closing Ceremony, depending on which nominees will be attending. All nominees and winners who are unable to attend any of these will be announced during the Closing Ceremony and have their awards mailed to them.

Theres is no minimum or maximum word count. ​
Eligibility
Anyone can submit an essay to the Human Rights Essay Contest, regardless of participation in the expo or age.

Only one submission is allowed per person.
Selection Criteria
Quality of Research and Writing:

demonstrates a familiarity with the subject

reflects a strong grasp of the issue at hand and logistical concerns regarding solutions
-
writing is clear and free of errors
-
clear line of thought and essay is easy to follow​
Creativity:
-
essay conveys a new and innovative approach or understanding of the topic

out of the box thinking is visable
-
illuminates new and/or underrepresented perspectives ​
Understanding:

any proposed solution is either realistic, or shows an understandable plan of action
-
clear explanation of mentioned research is outlined
Knowledge:

in-depth understanding of the strengths and failures regarding parties involved in human rights violations or lack there of
Passion:

reasoning behind chosen topic has been addressed

personal anecdotes and/or deep meaning to writer has been touched on

strong awareness of diverse global perspectives on human rights and how they impact communities is present​
Present Goals:
